Continuing our commitment to sci fi & 3D artists by telling you about the brilliant genius, a true mastermind of futuristic landscapes and alien-appearing visions — Mike Winkelmann aka Beeple. Warning: his artworks may blow your mind.
First off, Mike may appear super modest or self-critical if you take a look at the name of his website with a ‘crap’ word in it. In fact, he’s not like that at all. Beeple’s mind is wealthy with bold 3D art concepts, which he shares with his audience every single day. In one of his interviews, he told that he’s always into challenges and calling his work ‘crap’ has nothing to deal with self-mocking, it’s more of an incentive to overpower oneself. Pretty interesting technique, if you ask me. Of course, we’re here not to babble about the way this author pushes himself forward. What you’re about to see can never be unseen, I promise.
3D Art Marathon Lasting 10+ Years
Perhaps, the first thing everyone hastens to bring up about Beeple is his Everydays series. Day by day this 3D artist dedicates some time to letting his creativeness out and posting some new sci-fi art. Started in 2007 and lasting till now, his illustrations represent some ethereal plots, futuristic landscapes, and crazy dreamy images. According to Beeple, he’s never missed a day: even when his daughter was born, Mike managed to dedicate somewhat 5 minutes of his time to make a digital sketch.
Some of the 3D art illustrations look like contorted reality or the foreseeable future with spaceships, tons of creepy wires, androids and stuff. If you dig deeper, you’ll be surprised to find some caricatures of the mainstream mascots like Mickey Mouse, KFC, Winnie-the-Pooh, Amazon, Netflix, various emoji, the Smurfs, and others, depicted in post apocalyptic or cyberpunk scenes, which are fascinating. Mike also adds himself in such images — as the main character or a simple passer-by.
Are you Imagine Dragons fan? Here’s a tip for you as well. Beeple’s carried out some 3D art to be the band’s covers. Mike must have catched the spirit of their music and fit right in easily.
CGI Animation Tamer
Atop of futuristic illustrations, Mike Winkelman creates astounding cinema4D videos and animations. His attention-getting Creative Commons live visuals were screened in the performances of such electronic gurus as deadmau5, Skrillex, Avicii, Zedd, Taio Cruz, Tiësto, Amon Tobin, Wolfgang Gartner, and Flying Lotus, and others.
Recognize Them All
And my favorite rubric of 3D art and animation! Technically, Beeple doesn’t give it a name, so I’d call it parodies. These are completely insane views of actors, politicians, singers — anyone, who happens to be lucky and get into Beeple’s mind. However, there’s a certain pattern in his selection, I think: every person is, basically, a meme celebrity. So Keanu Reeves, Mark Zuckerberg, Donald Trump, and Michael Jackson are definitely on the list of his twisted mind.

Some may call him odd and creepy but take time to realize that this man has an infinite generator of creativeness in his mind, that hasn’t extinct not even in 12 years of everyday work plus some large main and side projects. Got to say, I admire his self-discipline, hardworking, and ingenuity.
