Is there anyone desperate enough to make any predictions for the rest of 2020? I believe it’s better to relax, breathe out and start enjoying the new experience we’re all going through. And if you’ve run out of activities (learned all languages, gave up drinking and started practicing yoga), I invite you to entertain yourself with this brilliant board game from David Sierra.
Even if it’s not something you enjoy spending your nights for, you will be amazed by David’s approach to illustration and board game design. I’ve been following him for years, and I’m sure his drawing style can’t leave anyone indifferent. You can feast your eyes on varied color palettes (all vibrant though), drawing styles, techniques, and of course, his love for various brushes. Halftones, shaders, textured one — he’s a huge lover of these!
In the Stay at Home project, you can enjoy his artistic style in full: eye-popping colors, halftone brushes, and cartoonish characters, not to mention a great game scenario. It’s based on the traditional “Game of the Goose” and has been conceived and designed to entertain families at stuck at home during the global quarantine.
I have no clue what in this board game design will attract most of your attention, but still can’t help highlighting the illustrations. From one side, they fit the overall style of David Sierra. Form the other, they seem to be a fresh look at old Disney characters.
The game is available for free in English and Spanish. It includes colored and black & version as well as detailed instructions. You can simply download it and prepare to travel from one toilet paper roll to another.
