Frequently Asked Questions
Start with the Lasso tool and draw the lines where you need a ripped effect. Then apply a Layer mask to hide the area that will be out of selection and add a new layer that will become a paper edge. Fill the last layer you made with white by clicking Paint Bucket. Hold Control-D to deselect the Paper edge layer and drag it below the Model layer. Then using the Move tool to place the paper edge where you want. Choose the Warp tool to change the shape of the edge so it looks natural, add some depth with Drop Shadow setting and drag the texture you wanted as a background on the Paper edge layer.
Draw the lines you need for the torn effect starting with the Lasso tool. After that, build a new layer that will serve as the paper edge and apply a Layer mask to conceal the region that will be outside of the selection. By selecting Paint Bucket, add white to the last layer you created. When dragging the Paper edge layer below the Model layer, hold Control-D to deselect it.
The paper edge may then be positioned where you want it using the Move tool. Select the Warp tool to alter the edge’s form so that it seems natural. Then, drag the desired texture onto the Paper edge layer to create background depth using the Drop Shadow option.
Create a new file, add a backdrop, then, using the Pen Tool, draw a zigzag line to choose the region you want to have shredded edges, then click “Close.” Open the Pathfinder Panel, choose the closed layer and the backdrop. To divide them, use Shift + Ctrl + F9, then press Shift + Ctrl + G to ungroup them. To create a rectangle, use the Rectangle Tool. This layer should be arranged and sent to the back. Then use the Wrinkle tool to make the borders of the closed route appear natural while filling it with white. Choose Drop Shadow Effect as the last phase.
