The landing page designed precisely for GT Alpina deserves special attention. The showcase features the variable fonts format and smooth animations which adds peculiar charm to the exploration of the typeface.
History and Features
Grilli Type drove inspiration from classic book typography with its characteristic rhythm and proportions. Actually, that was the very one-off Alpina, designed in 2011. Since then, its appearance has significantly evolved: the visual language has sharpened for both romanian and italian symbols as well as the entire family’s personality has been highlighted.
Today, GT Alpina is a family of 70 styles across 7 subfamilies: three widths in both regular and fine optical sizes, each with five weights and matching italics. It also supports over 50 languages, a wide range of non-alphabetic characters and is obviously a headshot for the lovers of genuine roman type aesthetics.
