I have kinda complicated relations with retro styles. I mean, I am always somewhere between great love and hate, depends on a particular trend. For some reason Art Deco passed me, and I rediscovered it with my colleague Ksenia’s article. And you know what? I definitely got a crush.
The abundance of gold — which is so appealing — and geometry create the balance which I try to realize in my own designs. Shall it be architecture, fashion, interiors, visual art, they always come with these clean lines, sophisticated decor, and the feeling you don’t want anything extra.
Since then, I got into exploring the Art Deco illustrations, both for reference and inspiration. And the collection has grown that big! I have also found it pretty rejoicing that Art Deco posters (so incredible!) are not solely a product of the 20s-40s. Many modern creatives bring it to their artworks as well as mix good old with good new.
I am thrilled to share some with you. If Ksenia was about vintage posters and illustrations, mine will be up-to-date and slightly different from the regular Art Deco concept. But who’s told you won’t love them nevertheless?
